Scars, whether caused by injury, surgery, or acne, can leave behind noticeable pigmentation and/or uneven texture that can affect a person's self-esteem.  Our Quanta Q Plus C and Evo Light 4V systems offer a safe and effective solution for improving the appearance of scars.

We offer 2 scar removal services: scar pigmentation removal and scar texture improvement.  These involve 2 different procedures with our Quanta Q Plus C and our Quanta Evo Light 4V, respectively.

For scar pigmentation, the Quanta Q Plus C emits laser light that penetrates the scar tissue, targeting and shattering the pigment, which is then reabsorbed by the body and expelled through the lymphatic system.  The precision of our laser ensures that none of the surrounding tissue is disrupted, ensuring a safe and effective treatment. 

For scar texture, the Quanta Evo Light 4V uses laser light to penetrate the skin and break down the scar tissue, stimulating the production of new collagen and improving the overall appearance of the skin. The laser energy is precisely controlled, ensuring that the procedure is safe and effective, with minimal discomfort.

FAQs

  • Simply put, during the laser treatment, light from the laser penetrates the pigment in the skin, heating the excess melanin to extremely high temperatures; thus, causing the excess melanin in the skin cells to explode into smaller particles. The body's natural defence mechanism sends out macrophages (scavenger cells) which then digest the smaller particles and expel them from the body through the lymphatic system. With the technology we offer, our Quanta Q-Plus C laser is capable of selectively heating the excess melanin without disrupting the surrounding tissue; thereby, significantly decreasing your risk of blistering and subsequently scarring.

  • The pain associated with laser scar pigmentation removal can be described as the feeling of a rubber band snapping on the skin. Very rarely do clients consider the process to be uncomfortable. However, with our cooling unit, the Zimmer Cryo 6, it can cool the skin before, during and after your laser treatment. The cooling unit will significantly reduce your discomfort, thus ensuring your experience is as comfortable as possible. For more sensitive clients, we carry a numbing cream which is available for purchase.

  • The number of treatments will vary depending on a number of factors. This will be explained in further detail during your consultation.

  • The intervals between treatments are typically spaced apart every 2 months.

    *Due to the extremely vulnerable nature of scar pigmentation to sun exposure and its high propensity to become hypo or hyper pigmented with sun exposure, we refrain from doing treatments during the summer months. The treatment area CANNOT be tanned whatsoever prior to treatment.

  • Immediately post treatment some redness and swelling may occur. The scar pigmentation may initially darken, which will typically lighten over the following weeks. If any hypopigmentation (lightening) occurs, it is temporary.

PIGMENTATION

  • Simply put, during the scar texture treatment, light from the laser penetrates the skin, which briefly raises the temperature of the collagen fibers in the scar tissue. This stimulates new collagen production, thus improving the texture of the skin.

  • The sensation of scar texture treatment varies from one individual to the next, but is generally manageable for the majority of our clientele. Most clients report a brief, snapping sensation. For more sensitive clients, we carry a numbing cream which is available for purchase.

  • The number of sessions needed varies depending on the severity of the scar tissue. It is necessary to repeat treatments every 3 to 4 weeks until the desired results are achieved.

  • Virtually everywhere can be treated! If you would like to inquire about specific areas, please do not hesitate to reach out. Please note that tattooed skin can not be treated.

TEXTURE

  • Pricing is calculated by square inch of area to be treated. Further details will be provided during your free no obligation consultation.

  • Absolutely! Tanning is the only activity that MUST be avoided for at least 2 weeks or more depending on your skin type following your treatment. Soaking the skin (i.e. bath, pool, hot tub, lake, etc.) should also be avoided 1 week following your procedure.

  • Yes! Unlike most other lasers, which only work on certain skin types, the Quanta Q Plus C and the Quanta Evo Light 4V, can safely and effectively treat all skin types!
