CHERRY ANGIOMA

Cherry angiomas, also known as cherry hemangiomas, are small, benign growths that can appear on the skin, often developing in mid life or later.  They are typically bright red, round or oval in shape and can range in size from a pinpoint to a few millimeters in diameter.  While they are generally harmless, some people may choose to have them removed for cosmetic purposes.

The Quanta Evo Light 4V laser can easily and effectively remove these benign growths.  It works by delivering precise, high-energy pulses of light to the affected area.  The cherry angioma is then broken down and reabsorbed into the body.  For most cases, one or two sessions is all it takes to be removed permanently.

  • Cherry angiomas are benign growths on the surface of the skin comprised of blood vessels and lymphatic vessels. Whereas, hemangiomas are typically small growths consisting of blood vessels only.

  • Laser therapy can successfully treat a wide variety of vascular lesions, hemangiomas, and port-wine-stains. Common types of vascular lesions include spider veins, cherry angiomas (red spots), spider angiomas, and vascular birthmarks.

  • Laser treatment of cherry angiomas/hemangiomas is a very rapid treatment and is virtually painless. Generally speaking, it is not necessary to numb the skin.

  • Laser cherry angioma removal works by selectively targeting the unwanted vessels. The laser heats them up to extremely high temperatures, destroying the selected vessels and sealing them shut; which the body then reabsorbs. Our laser is able to specifically target the unwanted vessels without any damage to the surrounding tissue.

  • Very often, only 1 session is needed. In rare cases, up to 3 sessions are needed.

  • Following your laser treatment, cherry angiomas will typically form a crust within about 24-36 hours, which will shed within 7-14 days. For the treatment area to fully heal, it may require 30 days or longer. Concealer/makeup that is applied with a clean applicator can be applied to the affected area once the crust sheds.

  • Virtually everywhere can be treated! If you would like to inquire about specific areas, please do not hesitate to reach out. Please note that tattooed skin can not be treated.

  • Yes! Unlike most other lasers, which only work on certain skin types, the Quanta Evo Light 4V, can safely and effectively treat all skin types! Our laser has two true wavelengths which permits our technicians to target all skin types with efficient and quick results.

  • Yes! Laser treatments will fully remove your cherry angiomas. However, it will not prevent new ones from forming. If you develop new ones in the future, we can repeat the procedure as necessary.
